Egg beater and fine motor skills

A manual egg beater, dish soap, sugar and water makes for a fun way for Wonder Bolt to strengthen his fine motor skills.  The addition of sugar increases the surface tension of the bubbles  so they won’t pop as easily.

His initial grasp was a fist hold but with correction and practice he progressed into a pincer grasp.

He still prefered the fist grasp when his fingers got tired but that was alright.  With constant practice or play (or increased finger muscle strength) he will eventually find the pincer grasp easier because it will enable him to have better control of the egg beater.

And now for the most fun part…..   Sensory play with bubbles!!!!! 😍
